ROLE OF SOCIAL WORKERS AND PSYCHOLOGISTS IN BASIC EDUCATION OF JIJOCA DE JERICOACOARA/CE
Abstract
This experience report portrays the insertion of Social Service and Psychology into the public basic education network in the municipality of Jijoca de Jericoacoara through compliance with Federal Law No. 13.935/2019 and implementation of Municipal Law No. 741/2022. The central theme discussed ranges from the characterization of the municipality to the process of implementing the Psychosocial Education Center (NUPSE) in municipal schools, considering the configurations of the work of Social Service and Psychology professionals. This is a descriptive study of the experience report type regarding the performance of the NUPSE team in the public basic education network, inserting reality into its socio-historical determinations. The study highlighted numerous challenges in the locus of professional activity, considering the need to confront expressions of social issues, from the perspective of guaranteeing rights and the need to overcome practices and views that are out of step with the reality experienced by the subjects. It is concluded, therefore, that the work of NUPSE professionals has greatly contributed to generating changes in the social reality of the school community, basing their work on professional political and ethical commitment.
