THE IMPORTANCE OF INTERSECTIONALITY IN SOCIAL SERVICE WORK IN PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION
Abstract
The article presents the importance of the feminist approach and intersectionality in the praxis of Social Work, especially in Professional and Technological Education (ETC). Using the Dialectical Historical theory, which enables a critical worldview, and through qualitative research, of the exploratory type and based on bibliographical research and theoretical references, it was identified that intersectionality is fundamental to understand the multiple dimensions that permeate social inequalities and their consequences in the performance of the social worker in the EPT. The results highlight the need for an intersectional approach to the planning and implementation of educational policies that contemplate the different realities and needs of students, especially those who are in a situation of social vulnerability. The study also emphasizes the importance of continuing education of professionals so that they can understand the complexity of inequalities and act more effectively in promoting social justice in the educational environment.
