Abstract

The article interprets the ways of the historical memory operates in the elaboration and circulation of television cultural products, more specifically historical soap operas, based on two television dramas produced about the process of political independence in Brazil and shown on open television: O Quinto dos Infernos (Carlos Lombardi, 2002) and IndependênciaS (Luiz Fernando Carvalho, 2022).
