The aim of this article is to reflect on the construction of the Ação Integralista
Brasileira’s social imaginary through the press, specially the papers A Offensiva and Monitor
Integralista, considered the most important newspapers of the movement. In this sense, it is first
necessary a brief comparative analysis of the profile of each paper aiming to identify its particular
doctrinal funcion within the movement’s hierarchy, as well as the linguistic, symbolic and
propagandistic resources that were used to solidify a common imaginary within the militants.
