first book published by the born Maranhão medical doctor Nina Rodrigues, As raças humanas e a responsabilidade penal no Brasil was one of the most important documents to think about the relationship between Medicine and the keeping of social and racial hierarchies during the end of 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. It is also a revealing document of the multiple dimensions where it is possible to pursue and understand the discussions about miscegenation, a few people described as degenerate and sexual and affective experience between men. In this paper I intend to analyze the thinking of the author about the relationship between race and rebel sexualities pointing out the need of articulate these two crossings of experiences. For that, I will try to make a connection between Social History and Gender Studies and Queer Studies.
