PRESERVATION OF PIAUÍ'S RAILWAY CULTURAL HERITAGE, A MATTER OF HOUSING

Abstract

The Railway Cultural Heritage is dealt with in this article from the residential buildings located along Line 01 of the old Estrada de Ferro Central do Piauí, state in the Northeast of Brazil, where it was observed that most of the village houses identified in the Inventory made carried out by the federal preservation institution maintained its housing function. A permanence that reached the 21st century and that stimulates reflection on dwelling in the heritage, understanding this sociocultural phenomenon as a way to enhance the value of buildings, the function of housing and its inhabitants. The approach starts from the characterization of these buildings and the analysis of the relationship that establish the policies of preservation and housing related to the railroad heritage.

Doutoranda do Programa de Pós-graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal da Bahia. Mestra em Desenvolvimento Urbano pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (2018), com especialização em História Cultural pela Universidade Federal do Piauí e História da Arte e da Arquitetura, pelo Instituto Camillo Filho. Aperfeiçoamento em Gestão e Prática de Obras em Conservação e Restauro do Patrimônio Cultural no Centro de Estudos Avançados da Conservação Integrada pela UFPE, graduada em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela UFPI. Arquiteta e Urbanista do Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional - Superintendência do Piauí e Coordenadora da especialização em Patrimônio e Cidade em Teresina-PI. Experiência na área de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, com ênfase na proteção, preservação e gestão do patrimônio cultural e na docência voltada para a arquitetura e urbanismo.
