Abstract

This paper discusses the importance of archival documents in the process of memory construction and dispute. Configuring itself as a strategic tool, the archival documents are fundamental in the dynamics between remembrance and forgetfulness, forming the memorialistic framework about the feminist movement. Through the collection of Maria Lacerda de Moura, one of the main exponents of the feminist movement in Brazil, the debate about the importance of archival documents becomes latent when it comes to the dissemination and legitimization of the movement's claims. The article intends to discuss the relation between archives and memory through Maria Lacerda de Moura's documents.
