HAGIOGRAPHY AS A BIOGRAPHICAL PROBLEMATIC: THE CASE OF THE PERFECTUS MONK

The aim of this article is to analyze the hagiographic text as a biographical element where, beyond the character itself, the great focus and importance of the narrative is linked to the construction of a representation. The use of the figure of Perfectus will be due to the fact that he was highlighted as the first of a series of martyrs that permeated Cordoba of the 9th century. By analyzing Perfectus' hagiography from the point of view of political myth, we will understand his departure from the biographical character and, therefore, the problematic of a narrative focused on the praise of individual figures.
