THE SUPERVISED INTERNSHIP IN SOCIAL WORK TRAINING: THE MANAGEMENT IN QUESTION
Abstract
This article is the result of an ongoing master's research project linked to the Graduate Program in Social Work at UNESP – Franca. Its central theme is the management of supervised internships in undergraduate Social Work programs. The objective is to contribute to the understanding of management as a key strategy for consolidating supervised internships with quality and ethical-political commitment. The study is based on the premise that, regardless of the curricular structure and challenges faced in implementing internships, they are materialized and conducted through a management process that carries intentionality. This management should be aligned with the guidelines of the National Internship Policy established by ABEPSS, which
requires in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of its constitutive dimensions. Thus, the study seeks to identify possibilities and strategies that strengthen internship management from the perspective of the critical professional education project. It emphasizes the importance of broadening the debate on internship management, recognizing that a process guided by democratic principles and the ethical-political project can significantly enhance the formative and critical role of internships in Social Work education.
