REFLECTIONS ON ACCESS AND RETAINMENT TO EDUCATION SUPERIOR FOR PERSONS DEPRIVED OF FREEDOM
Abstract
This article aimed to carry out a brief reflection on access to higher education for people deprived of their liberty, based on a master's research with a descriptive character that aimed to outline the academic, social and criminal profile of prisoners in prison units in the State of Pará. According to the result, it was observed that access to higher education is being possible only through distance education and even so there are challenges that pervade institutional order that compromise the academic performance of convicts, which can lead to situations of locking up and even abandonment.
