Abstract

This work aims to understand how the debate on sexual diversity has been addressed in Social Work courses. In the professional sphere, the discussion gains momentum with the campaign “Love speaks all languages”, with Resolution 489 as its culmination, which prohibits any conduct of a discriminatory and/or prejudiced nature due to sexual orientation in professional practice. This is an exploratory study of a qualitative nature carried out with students completing the Social Service course at a private university located in the center-south region of Rio de Janeiro in 2022. The instrument for data collection was the application of a online questionnaire. The aim of this study is to contribute to this theme being incorporated into professional training with the required density, since the social worker is a professional whose work is guided by the unconditional defense of human rights.
