SOCIAL WORK IN A PEASANT SCHOOL COMMUNITY: CULTURE AND IDENTITY

Abstract

 This article analyzes the experience of social service in a peasant school community with a group of students from the 1st segment of a local elementary school. The systematization of the results of this project aims to reflect, with the Professional category, the possibilities of intervention in schools, located in traditional communities, based on the rural education paradigma, while revealing the sociocultural history of the community of Ribeiro do Amaro, which is unknown to most of the population of the municipality of Campos dos Goytacazes.

Carolina de Cássia Ribeiro Abreu

Possui graduação em Serviço Social pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (1989) e mestrado em Políticas Sociais pela Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (2001). Atualmente é assistente social iii - Secretaria Municipal de Educação e assistente social da Prefeitura Municipal de Campos dos Goytacazes. Tem experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em Educação do Campo.
