Abstract

This article proposes to reflect on the crisis resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic and the management of the Social Assistance policy, aiming to build theoretical and practical subsidies in the conduct of management instruments to guarantee and expand the rights to social protection. This study was carried out through bibliographic and documental research, with analyzes based on the method of dialectical historical materialism. Since the Federal Constitution of 1988, Social Assistance has made great advances, however, the management of this policy still has many challenges. The Covid-19 pandemic opened up social inequality in our country and made evident the situation of vulnerability and social risk, of a large number of families and individuals. The research assumes that this time of health crisis and that deepens the economic, social and political crisis is a fertile period to seek new ways to overcome social inequality, through democratic and ethical management.
