Abstract

Center of attention during 2020, the recent pandemic caused by Covid-19 removed from the main media agenda the devastation practiced against the Amazon in anti- environmental measures caused by the rise of neoliberal policies. According to Weber, the law in capitalism is molded from the material to the formal sense, that is, the morals of the ruling class are formalized and imposed in a positive law. In this sense, the ruling class in the agricultural sector and their political allies enjoyed the media chaos provided by Covid-19 to deprecate environmental heritage for their own benefit and "pass infra-legal deregulation reforms", as stated by former Environment Minister Ricardo Salles. Bearing in mind the panoramas of globalization regarding the predatory use of the Amazonian soil and its solely economic foundation, it is up to the work to analyze the effects that such exploitation imposes on human health in the midst of the environmental crisis.
