Serviço Social & Realidade launches call for 2026 edition on contemporary reconfigurations and professional resistance
The journal Serviço Social & Realidade (SS&R)*, from UNESP/Franca, announces its thematic edition for 2026, in continuous flow, under the title “SOCIAL WORK IN TIMES OF (RE)CONFIGURATIONS: foundations, training and resistance in confronting the expressions of the social question”. The call aims to gather articles, essays, experience reports and reviews that articulate the historical and theoretical-methodological pillars of the profession with current dynamics – such as productive restructuring, financialization, the dismantling of public policies and the advance of conservative projects worldwide. Submissions can be made in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French or Italian, and undergo double‑blind peer review. Seven thematic axes guide the contributions, ranging from professional training to comparative international perspectives. The edition is not restricted to a single object of analysis, but opens a broad thematic umbrella for debates that connect the new to the ethical-political foundations of Social Work. Submissions are open throughout the year 2026.
